Teachers For communication: With principals, other teachers, parents, and

other members of the school district. Things such as email, cellular phones, blogs, and websites are used.

For Grade keeping: In addition to old fashion paper grade books many teachers now days are required to keep an electronic grade book as a way of recording student grades.

To aid in the presentation of classroom topics: Programs such as PowerPoint are great for this and is an easy way for students to know what is important and have something visual that easy for everyone to see, even those with visual disabilities.

Integrate it in: More and more teachers are integrating technology use into their teaching instead of just teaching technology use as its own subject.

As a way to help students who may need additional help: Often times there are students in a class who may have learning disabilities and may need additional assistance and things such as calculators and word processing programs are integrated to help these students.

Students For Research: Students use the internet as

quick way of accessing many resources. For Communication: Things such as email,

blogs, instant messengers, and much more. For Presentations: Not only for research but

for putting together presentations through the use of programs such as PowerPoint.

For Creativity: Students may use images found on the internet or images they take using digital cameras to create creative projects or for

creative writing.

What is integration: (n) a combination of parts or objects that work together well

What is technology integration: My definition: Integrating technology into things

that would be done anyway. Technology integration, as defined by the National

Forum on Education Statistics (2005), Forum Unified Education Technology Suite, "is the incorporation of technology resources and technology-based practices into the daily routines, work, and management of schools"

(from: http://www.ct4me.net/technology_integr.htm#Definition)

Yes, Using technology means you are doing things such as using a calculator just to be using a calculator while technology integration means you are integrating technology such as calculators into your lesson, a lesson that is about more than using calculators. An example of integrating calculators would be

in lessons leading up to students learning multiplication. Students could be asked to add 3 + 3 + 3 to get an answer of 9 and then be asked to multiple 3 * 3 which also equals 9.

Knowing how to use technology is important but knowing ways to use it is more important.

The use of technology should be a part of everyday lessons and things done in the classroom there should not be a separate time just for using technology but instead it should be integrated.

Through the use of integration of technology students learn more because they are not only learning how to use the technology but times it can be used to help them.

Internet: When doing research projects it is a much quicker way of accessing information, the teacher would most likely want to give students a list of acceptable sites to use.

Blogs: This could be a way for students to communicate with one and other and or with the teacher. Also the teacher could have a blog that parents can access to know what is going on in the classroom.

Clickers: These could be used for things such as taking attendance or just as a part of every day things in the classroom such as answering questions asked by the teacher.

Digital Cameras: A fun way to add more information to projects or class activities such as a “What I like best about me” bulletin board in the class where students tell everyone what they like best about themselves and photograph that.
