Video Commerce gives you many ways to merchandise and customize products. The Product Tags field in mpx allows you to “tag” or label products based on numerous criteria.

Let's say you have a special location next to your playlist where you want to place a weekly offer. You can create an "Editorial Top Pick" tag, apply it to a product, and have the storefront query for that tag so that the offer shows up in that spot.

If you have different storefronts for different devices, you could use tags as a way of restricting available content to that media appropriate for the consumer's current device.

You could tag a product "subscriber:gold," and have it either not show up in the storefront or only be made unavailable for purchase for non-gold consumers. The checkout adapter in the commerce stack would then be written to enforce this implicit rule.

Video Commerce’s Pricing Template feature lets you set multi-variable pricing terms to any product or product bundle. Pricing Templates define the base price of a product and the duration for which that price is in effect.

Pricing Templates – Product managers can create a set of reusable pricing templates that can accommodate a variety of pricing strategies. A few examples:

•  Define a sliding scale of pricing over a period of time

•  Define the currency a product can be sold in and its tax basis

•  Allow the product to appear in different areas of a storefront over its lifecycle

Pricing Templates – Video Commerce contains two pricing tiers, relative and exception:

1. Relative Tiers set a base price for a duration (days, weeks, months, or years).

2. Exception Tiers set a base price for a time period

between specific start and end dates.
