2. Using Technology in the Classroom
3. Teachers and Technology
Technology and teaching go hand in hand.We
are teaching a digital generation, and need to
get them ready for a future that is built on
the latest and greatest technology.Because,
ready or not here it comes!
4. Instructional Design& Technology- What is it Good for?
Absolutely everything!
Instructional technology and design are an
invaluable tool in the world of education. They
help teachers design instruction that is tailored to
their students needs. It is a means to analyze student
strengths and weaknesses.A better question would be
to ask what isnt it good for?
5. Defining the Field of Instructional Design & Technology
(IDT)
As a teacher and an avid technology user in the classroom, my
personal
definition of Instructional Design & Technology is probably
pretty close to
that of Reiser and Dempseys (Reiser & Dempsey 2012) in that
they state,
The field of instructional design and technology encompasses the
analysis of
learning and performance problems, and the design development,
implementation,
evaluation and management of instructional and non-instructional
processes and
resources. While instructional technology is ever changing, so is
the way I
need to teach and reach my students.Anything I can design to catch
and keep
their attention, to analyze their learning, and performance so that
I can better
design classroom instruction is not an option.it is a must to make
it in education with a job description full of higher-level
thinking standards, and testing.
(n):
The process by which instruction is improved through the analysis
of learning needs and systematic development of learning materials.
Instructional designers often use technology and multimedia as
tools to enhance instruction.

Continued training and use of campus technologies
11. The Problem at Patricia Intermediate
The specific problem at Patricia Intermediate is a lack of teacher
buy-in due to a number of different factors such as:
Age
skill level
time
energy.
12. Alternatives
Just do it
Utilizing the Peer Facilitator
Take online, Self-paced e-coursed
Attend Face-to- face trainings
13. Conclusion
Technology is one of the biggest
influences in our society today.
It moves us, and gets us where
we need to be.To sit and do
things you have always done in a
world that is rapidly changing is
not good enough.Teachers need
to remember to be flexible, to be
life-long learners, and to not be
afraid to try something new in
their classrooms.Our district
and campus has given us the
training and the resources; all
we must do is choose to take
advantage of them so that our
students and ourselves can learn,
implement, and grow.
