What is Telnet?

Telnet is the way it lets you use the resources of a distant computer somewhere else in the world.

Feature of Telnet

If you use Telnet, you can log on to another computer, issue commands just as if you were at that computer’s keyboard, and then gain access to all the computer’s resources.

What is needed for Telnet?

To use Telnet, you need to know the Internet address of the host whose resources you want to use. Your Telnet client contacts the host, using its Internet address.

What is NVT?

NVT is Network Virtual Terminal. Each NVT has a virtual “printer” and virtual “keyboard”. The keyboard sends the data from one NVT to the other. It receives and displays the data on the computer screen.
