Unmanned Aerial VehiclesMobile Systems Research Labs have years of experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The following types of UAVs have been developed:

Żuraw

It is the first UAV built and developed at MSRL. It can fly up to 12 hours, thanks to a special wing profile that allows gliding in order to save fuel. Żuraw is equipped with a series of onboard computers responsible for mission control, navigation, communication and management of onboard devices.Wing span 5,4 mLength 2,3 mStarting mass 30 kgDuration of flight 8-12 h (combustion engine)Speed 100-150 km/hMaximum altitude 4000 m

Required airfield size 100 x 50m (classical take-off and landing on a grassy or paved runway)Communication range up to 50 kmEquipped with a specially constructed gimbal that support both thermal and optical camera (36x zoom)Detachable wings for transport purposes

Burzyk

Burzyk is currently the tiniest UAV built in MSRL. It is so called ‘backpack UAV’, it means that it can be divided into small parts and transported in a backpack. The longest element is 80 cm long and the assembly time takes up to 10 minutes. Thanks to its compact size Burzyk can be

launched from hand, catapult or specially designed cart, and the landing is performed on its chassis. That is why Burzyk is perfect for reconnaissance missions, where every second counts and there is no time to wait for larger UAVs taking off from an airfield. It is equipped with an optical or thermal gimbal and it sends live video straight to the ground station. It is also equipped with onboard computers. The most important ones are mission computer and image processing computer. It is also possible to add different sensors to Burzyk UAV.Wing span 2,4 mLength 1,8 mStarting mass 10 kgDuration of flight 2-3 h (electrical engine)Speed 45-120 km/hMaximum altitude 4000 mRequired airfield size 25 x 50m (take-off from catapult, hand, trolley, landing on grass)Communication range up to 10 kmEquipped with exchangeable gimbal with:

1. optical camera (2x zoom)2. optical camera (10x zoom)3. thermal camera4. picture camera

The UAV is divided into elements of maximum length of 80 cm and is specially designed for transportation in a backpack

Bąk

„Bąk” UAV is the newest airplane developed at Mobile Systems Research Labs. It is equipped with a specially designed gimbal with optical and thermal cameras, range distance finder and fire detection sensor. It also has a set of onboard computers responsible for mission control, navigation, steering, recording of flight parameters and image processing. It allows to recognize and

track vehicles from the air without the help of human operators. The image processing computer also allows „Bąk” to move autonomously on the airfield. Amongst electronic devices installed onboard „Bąk” there is also a communication module responsible for live video transmission, which allows operators to track the mission and adjust it according to the needs. Like in any other UAV built by MSRL it is possible to add different onboard or droppable sensors.Wing span 6,2 mLength 2,85 mStarting mass 40 kgDuration of flight 8h (combustion engine)Speed 100 km/hMaximum altitude 4000 mRequired airfield size 50 x 50m (take-off from catapult, landing on a parachute)Communication range up to 50 kmEquipped with a specially constructed gimbal that support both thermal and optical camera (36x zoom) Detachable wings for transport purposes, catapult ready for transport
