Turn A Blind Eye To Peace And Face The
Consequences! - Part 1
The Word Peace basically means quiet, tranquili-
ty, mental calm or serenity. It also means freedom
or cessation of war. When two people or parties that
were waging war against each other reconcile, the
result is Peace. Peace is the fruit of reconcilia-
tion.
We cannot comprehensively discuss peace without drawing some
truths from the source of Peace. Anything drawn from the source
without alteration is authentic. Peace is a Personality that needs to be
received in our hearts (systems) if we want to see the difference. Eve-
rything else is elusive! The only indisputable Character who claimed to be
the Prince of Peace is our LORD Jesus Christ.
It is written, “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the
government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonder-
ful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
-NKJV.
If you want the real Peace that you can take to the
Bank of your heart is the one that emanates from
this Jesus who is also called MESSIAH. In a lay-
man‟s language, Messiah means CHAMPION
(LIBERATOR, SAVIOUR).
Prior to the above text, any eagle-eyed person will
note that the purpose of Peace is Multiplication of na-
tions‟ joy. Prophet Isaiah declared, “You have multiplied the nation And in-
creased its joy; They rejoice before You According to the joy of harvest, As
men rejoice when they divide the spoil.” Isaiah 9:2-NKJV.
Later, we learn, “Of the increase of His government and peace There
will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it
and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even for-
ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:7-NKJV.
The underlined portion of scripture reveals to us that the Peace that WE
receive from Jesus is Endless. According to the verse what else do you
expect? DEVELOPMENT! Increase in Per Capita Income (Per capita in-
come or average income measures the average income earned per per-
son in a given area (city, region, country, etc.) in a specified, The greatest
enabling environment for any worthwhile busi-
ness activity is Peace. Terrorism is a hindrance
to the emancipation of man from poverty. De-
stroying the infrastructures already built is an
abomination in economic terms.
It is calculated by di-
viding the area's total in-
come by its total popula-
tion.) =BUMPER HAR-
VEST=PROSPERITY.
The LORD Himself rein-
forces this statement by
reminding us it is neither
by might nor by power by
the Spirit of the Living God. Zec. 4:6. „The zeal of the LORD of hosts
will perform this;‟ shows that God is the essence of this Peace.
The people living in war stricken areas of Syria like Aleppo cherish peace.
Whenever a ceasefire is pronounced, they know it is their time to get relief
services from humanitarian organizations tasked to carry out this exercise.
A couple of days ago, Russia‟s Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov
and United States‟ Foreign Secretary John Kerry struck a peace deal for a
week. It is our prayer that the people of Syria shall experience Lasting
Peace without limits soon.
The Patriarch Isaac embraced the Word of God (Jesus) and realized
tremendous increase in harvest even though he sowed in a dry sea-
son. It is written, “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same
year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. “
Gen. 26:12 - (KJV). Where there was meant to be
misery, Isaac had enough to feed his people
through God‟s enablement. Without food security
that God provided for him, there would be hav-
oc. He still meets the needs of His people who
put their trust in Him regardless of their geo-
graphical locations.
In the Wilderness of Sin, when the Children of Israel yearned for Water,
God instructed Moses to strike the rock at Horeb and Water gushed out.
Exodus 17:1-6. God said to Moses, "Behold, I will stand before you there
on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out
of it, that the people may drink." And Moses did so in the sight of the elders
of Israel.“ Ex 17:6.
This miracle hap-
pened because of the
intervention of God
Himself. There was
Peace. Murmuring
ceased! It is written:
“God stood on the
rock before Moses.”
Think about it!
Stephen had this kind of Peace. While his
assailants were stoning him, he saw Jesus
standing in heaven cheering him up. Before
the Council who were questioning him, he
remained radiant, steadfast, collected and
calm. Acts Chapter 6 and 7. Although Ste-
phen was in great pain as a result of stoning,
he forgave his offenders. And these are his fi-
nal words: "Lord, do not charge them with this
sin." And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts7:60.
In Africa, major cities including Nairobi records high number of road acci-
dents. The on-going construction of Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from
the Port of Mombasa to Western part of Kenya and possibly Uganda will re-
duce road carnage in this region. Heavy trucks on our road networks have
promoted this menace.
They create potholes that contribute to more road carnage. It is not a
good experience to drive on potholed roads. Your peace of mind is
disturbed!
There is another „animal‟ called Mo-
tor-bike used by „BODABODA‟ riders
to conduct their business every-
where. A minute can hardly elapse
before seeing one around. Due their
versatility and maneuverability,
they claim more lives than other
means of transport. A motor-bike rider can approach you from any
angle: obtuse, scalene name it! There are very good in emergency situa-
tions but more regulations, control and efficient enforcement of the Traffic
Code (rules) is required to instill some discipline in this thriving indus-
try. Otherwise most people‟s peace of mind is threatened.
