Total Cost of Ownership Fast Start Assessment with RACE Methodology Background: Businesses need to be flexible, dynamic and agile, while keeping an eye on escalating costs. Everybody is looking for ways to enable high quality and low cost service delivery through a fully virtualized infrastructure for public, private and hybrid cloud implementations. In order to find the perfect solution addressing business today, including your investments in cloud, analytics and/or mobile environments and supporting a vision for the future; IBM ® is committed to providing leadership solutions to help address real business needs at a lower cost of ownership. Abstract: RACE (Right-fitting Applications into Consolidated Environments) is a financial methodology, model, and program supporting a process for achieving a more cost-effective IT infrastructure. RACE approach enables us to size and subsequently project the financial benefits of consolidating to virtualized server-based environments. Objectives: Evaluate potential benefits of consolidating workloads from Intel and/or UNIX platforms onto IBM Enterprise Systems Platforms with built-in CAMSS (Cloud Analytics Mobile Social & Security) capabilities. Find out not only the cost of purchase but all aspects in the further use and maintenance of the equipment, device, or system considered as well as the cost of changing from one computing platform to another. Compare alternative infrastructure choices based on IT Cost and Value assessment Create awareness about Server Choices and Cost/Value Optimization Points Agenda: You will work with a skilled IBM practitioner to build a model based on your specific data, industry standards, and comparative server data contracted from a leading global supplier. The tools are complemented by both quick estimators of cost and value as well as service engagements which can provide extremely detailed custom project comparisons and migration plans. The advantage of the RACE methodology is the ability to provide relatively precise, client-specific, empirical models with limited input and with rapid turnaround. You can have confidence in the tools outcome because it is based on your own data. Your Participation: In order to start the assessment, a server inventory template should be populated for the physical and/or virtual servers to be assessed including their basic utilization data. The accuracy of the output heavily depends on the completeness of the information provided. Output: You will receive an IBM and Customer Confidential report with: A three or five year cost and value model comparing existing costs to the initial and operating costs of several future alternatives Capacity planning and configuration estimators for establishing technical equity among multiple future alternatives Support for consolidating and virtualizing existing x86 and UNIX ® distributed environments Support for mixed or hybrid target configurations consisting of heteroge- neous IT infrastructure platforms Charts, graphs, and tables that together visually and empirically demonstrate the financial ramifications of consolidating servers Cost & Timing: This no-fee workshop is an investment both of your and IBM’s time, and provides significant value to your organization. It is expected to take about a week’s time including data collection, analysis, modeling and iterations for better precision. Total Cost of Ownership Fast Start Assessment with RACE Methodology

Background: Businesses need to be flexible, dynamic and agile, while keeping an eye on escalating costs. Everybody is looking for ways to enable high quality and low cost service delivery through a fully virtualized infrastructure for public, private and hybrid cloud implementations.

In order to find the perfect solution addressing business today, including your investments in cloud, analytics and/or mobile environments and supporting a vision for the future; IBM® is committed to providing leadership solutions to help address real

business needs at a lower cost of ownership.

Objectives:

• Evaluate potential benefits of consolidating workloads from Intel and/or UNIX platforms onto IBM Enterprise Systems Platforms with built-in CAMSS (Cloud Analytics Mobile Social & Security) capabilities.

• Find out not only the cost of purchase but all aspects in the further use and maintenance of the equipment, device, or system considered as well as the cost of changing from one computing platform to another.

• Compare alternative infrastructure choices based on IT Cost and Value assessment

• Create awareness about Server Choices and Cost/Value Optimization Points

Agenda: You will work with a skilled IBM practitioner to build a model based on your specific data, industry standards, and comparative server data contracted from a leading global supplier.

Output: You will receive an IBM and Customer Confidential report with:

• A three or five year cost and value model comparing existing costs to the initial and operating costs of several future alternatives

• Capacity planning and configuration estimators for establishing technical equity among multiple future alternatives

• Support for consolidating and virtualizing existing x86 and UNIX® distributed environments

• Support for mixed or hybrid target configurations consisting of heteroge-neous IT infrastructure platforms

• Charts, graphs, and tables that together visually and empirically demonstrate the financial ramifications of consolidating servers

Cost & Timing: This no-fee workshop is an investment both of your and IBM’s time, and provides significant value to your organization. It is expected to take about a week’s time including data collection, analysis, modeling and iterations for better precision.
