ApplicaBons  for  Wearable  Tech

Wearable  technology  pioneers:  •  Google  Glasses  •  Nike  Plus  Bands  •  Samsung  Watch

ConnecBvity  and  Interoperability  is  going  to  get  beEer  and  enhance  capability.    Wearable  tech  has  just  started.  Nano  Tech  embedded  inside  humans  is  next.

Industries  with  immediate  impact:  •  Healthcare  •  Entertainment  •  Telecom

Big  gap  exists  in  developing  enterprise  apps  for  these  industries  who  want  to  quickly  adapt  to  these  technologies.    Consumer  Apps  will  spike  significantly  just  like  when  we  adopted  smartphones.

“Templated  Enterprise  Apps”

Enterprises  Bred  of  sinking  millions  of  dollars  into  large  scale  enterprise  app  deployments  to  then  spend  more  millions  on  customizaBon,  localizaBon  and  implementaBon.    Millions  of  enterprises  looking  for  SaaS  and  PaaS  based  enterprise  apps  specifically  built  for  their  industry  /market.

Industries  with  immediate  impact:  •  Healthcare  •  Entertainment  •  Telecom  •  Manufacturing

Big  gap  exists  in  developing  scalable    /  one  click  install  apps  for  these  industries.  AWS  addresses  only  a  part  of  this  problem.

Real  Time  and  SenBment  AnalyBcs

SenBment  analysis  is  the  use  of  natural  language  processing,  text  analysis  and  computaBonal  linguisBcs  to  idenBfy  and  extract  subjecBve  informaBon  in  source  materials.      Product  companies  have  started  to  use  some  tools  to  understand  what  consumers  are  saying  (expressing  over  the  internet)  about  their  product.

Largely  untapped  market  with  huge  potenBal  for  web  /  mobile  apps  and  or  SaaS  plaWorms.        Companies  in  business:  •  LexalyBcs  •  TextalyBcs  •  SenBMetrix  •  TheySay  •  SemanBcForce  •  Converseon

Smart  City  and  Smart  Grid

With  smart  grids,  ciBes  can  leapfrog  into  the  heart  of  the  future  while  simultaneously  providing  stability,  reliability  and  efficiency  for  its  uBlity  infrastructure.  Smart  grids  offer  flexibility  to  match  demand  and  supply  of  variable  sources.

Machine  to  Machine  CommunicaBon  (M2M)

M2M  is  about  enabling  the  flow  of  data  between  machines  and  machines  and  ulBmately  machines  and  people.  Regardless  of  the  type  of  machine  or  data,  informaBon  usually  flows  in  the  same  general  way  -‐-‐  from  a  machine  over  a  network,  and  then  through  a  gateway  to  a  system  where  it  can  be  reviewed  and  acted  on.

There  are  four  basic  stages  that  are  common  to  just  about  every  M2M  applicaBon:  1.  CollecBon  of  data  2.  Transmission  of  selected  data

through  a  communicaBon  network

3.  Assessment  of  the  data  4.  Response  to  the  available

informaBon

3D  Cameras  /  Printers  /  Projectors  /  Scanners

3-‐D  prinBng,  or  addiBve  manufacturing,  has  come  a  long  way  from  its  roots  in  the  producBon  of  simple  plasBc  prototypes.  Today,  3-‐D  printers  can  not  only  handle  materials  ranging  from  Btanium  to  human  carBlage  but  also  produce  fully  funcBonal  components,  including  complex  mechanisms,  baEeries,  transistors,  and  LEDs.

Five  3-‐D  prinBng  disrupBons  that  we  should  begin  preparing  for.  1.  Accelerated  product-‐

development  cycles  2.  New  manufacturing  strategies

and  footprints  3.  Shi]ing  sources  of  profit  4.  New  capabiliBes  5.  DisrupBve  compeBtors
