Indonesia Electricity capacity is the lowest in ASEAN
Indonesia need an Energy Miracle
CLEAN ENERGY that is AFFORDABLE that can be used as BASE LOAD that can be DEPLOY FAST with SMALL FOOTPRINT and SCALE UP very quickly
Lets put those criteria in a energy matrix..
ENERGY MIRACLE MATRIX
The next generation
of Nuclear is GEN
IV Reactor.
ALL feature a
passive safety
system and more
economical.
MSR has the most
simplest design
thus has the
highest safety, the
most economic and
efficient of all
Why Molten Salt as fuel | The best fuel for Nuclear reactor
• Shanghai Institute of Applied Physic (SINAP) have study all 3 type of nuclear fuel.
• Molten Salt give better economic and performance than other.
THE INDONESIA THORIUM CONSORTIUM
MOU sign in Washington DC in 26 October 2015
Inherent Safety SystemTotal passive system without requiring any power or human intervention

DESIGN
● Nuclear plant divided into 250
MWe/557 MWt underground power
modules.
● Each module is made up of two Cans
housed in silos.
● Each Can contains a 250 MWe
reactor, primary loop pump, and
primary heat exchanger.
● Cans are duplexed. To accommodate
4 year moderator life, Can operates
for four years, then cools down for
four years, and then is changed out.
Nuclear Island Modularity is 250 MWe
ThorCon is a Four Barrier Design
1. Primary Loop
2. Can/EDT3. Silo Cavity
3. Silo Hall
1. Primary Loop Piping, Pump,
Pot, HX
2. Can/Drain Tank, 5 bar over-
pressure.
3. Silo Cavity. Inerted.
Duplex/triplex barrier.
4. Silo Hall, 1 bar over-pressure.
Triplex barrier.
The 5th Barrier is The Fuel Salt
Most reactor has only 2
radiation barrier, EPR
has 3, Thorcon has 5
barrier.
● Continuously tested by absorbing
<1MW of heat from primary loop.
Monitor temperature and flow.
● In full power, old salt drain, decay
heat power to membrane wall peaks
at about 5 MWt 3 hours after drain.
● Fuelsalt temp peaks at 960℃. 470℃below boiling point.
● Membrane wall can handle 30 MWt.
● Pond contains 72 days worth of
water.
● With wet towers, goes to > 6 months.
● Cooling rate reduces drastically as
salt temperature comes down. Over
100 days before salt freezes.
● Passive cooling for several
months

Build on yard with block module. Every
time the same exact supply chain. Get
economic of scale

E. MASS PRODUCTION
What makes ThorCon reactor cheap
Yard Technology = Cost Savings and Better Quality
“Build reactor they way large
ship is build”
Uses less steel than other reactor
