• Collaborative field demonstrations results (Crop rotation; Zero tillage; Fertilizer blend; Weeding and pest control
• Herbicides significantly reduce labor and production costs (herbicide use in maize cultivation is 31% while cost savings are 37%).
• Herbicides when combined with conservation enhance soil fertility and reduce water evaporation
• Fertilizers enhance soil fertility and increase Yield by 45%
Research and product development with partnership with IIAM/SIMLESA & IFDC
Challenges and ways forward
• Low agro dealer density in rural areas– Improve dealer’s knowledge and skills for product and
business management– Encourage the youth to open shops– Encourage existing dealers to promote inputs
• Limited access to resources for Smallholder capacity building
Encourage finance institution to work with AD for Access to funds
Reduce inputs transaction cost in favour to inputs price for farmers
Collaborate with other projects to link their farmers to trained AD’s
Research product development
- Linkages with IIAM for CA practises- Linkages with IFDC for new Fertilizer blends promotion- Linkages with PROMAC for agro dealers network with FO’s
Coping strategies in technology development
- Demo plots- Linking farmers adopters to agro dealer’s shops in the input supply chain

To increase agricultural productivity and crop diversification
To Promote inputs supply network and agriculture value chain through strengthening Rural market
