A You can install M.2 drives without sinks but they are still recommended.

Q Since this NAS supports both 2.5” SATA SSD and M.2 SATA SSD, can I use Qtier and Caching at the same time? A Yes.

Q What type of RAID can I create with the 6 M.2 slots?

A Standard RAID as 6 regular drives: RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 in Storage Pool. If used as cache: RAID 0, 1 and 10.

Q Can I use all 3 PCI-e expansion slots for network expansion (e.g. 10G)

A Yes.

Q Can I mix different PCI-e expansion cards together?A Yes. All depending on what your necessity or preference for use of each slot.
