There are no secrets. The networked market knows more than companies do about their own products. And whether the news is good or bad, they tell everyone.

A healthy intranet organizes workers in many meanings of the word. Its effect is more radical than the agenda of any union.

We know some people from your company. They're pretty cool online. Do you have any more like that you're hiding? Can they come out and play?

“Will you walk a little faster?" said a whiting to a snail,
"There's a porpoise close behind us, and he's treading on my tail.

See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance!
"They are waiting on the shingle -- will you come and join the dance?
Martin R. Kalfatovic :: Smithsonian Institution Libraries :: Staff Brown Bag :: 14 November 2007 :: Washington, DC
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, will you join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance?”

WikisSomewhere, in a dimly lit classroom, a library bench, or in a home study, some lucky so-and-so is writing an essay from beginning to end with no notes. This splendid individual is able to craft entire sections without forgetting by the end what the section was intended to include at the beginning, and can weave a carefully paced argument with thoughts and references collected over a period of months, all perfectly recollected. Neither of your authors is this person. Instead, we need help, and that help comes in the shape of a wiki.

Blogs
Blogging is a major new social, political, and economic phenomenon. It is a fresh and striking exemplification of Friedrich Hayek's thesis that knowledge is widely distributed among people and that the challenge to society is to create mechanisms for pooling that knowledge ... The newest mechanism is the “blogosphere.”

Social Networks
The emergence of a new classification of “social” Web sites is changing theconstruction and culture of the Web. In these shared spaces, users are not onlythe audience, but they create content, design pages and architect entirely newsocial networks. We have moved from an Internet built by a few thousand authorsto one constructed by millions.
