What the animal looks like.
• The Great Plains Toad is an amphibian. Some of them are small and some of them are big. They have all kinds of colors like orange, brown, green, golden, and gray. They are very bumpy. Their special body parts are their eyes, tough, and extra eyelids.
Where they live
• The great plains toad lives in hot places,low and damp places,and they live by rivers. Their habitats are ponds, lakes, and tall grasses. Their homes are in the ground, inside flowers , and rotting logs.
Their habits
• They mostly crawl on land. The Great Plains Toads Back legs are not big and strong. They like to eat insects, worms,
spiders, moths, flies, and beetles.
Birth and Growth
• Toads hatch from eggs in the water. The second stage is tadpoles. When they are adults they move to land. Guess how many eggs a toad can lay?
Up to two thousand eggs.
Interesting facts About the Great Plains Toad
• Not all toads have teeth. All Great Plains Toads are nocturnal. Frogs and toads are part of the same family. Frogs and toads have ears called tympanums. Another interesting fact is the toads eggs are called spawn. After they get rid of their old skin they eat it. The Great Plains Toad is an interesting animal.
