Telecommunications and Its History

History of telecommunication

The history of telecommunication began with the use of smoke signals and drums in Africa, the Americas and parts of Asia. In the 1790s, the first fixed semaphore systems emerged in Europe; however it was not until the 1830s that electrical telecommunication systems started to appear. This article details the history of telecommunication and the individuals who helped make telecommunication systems what they are today. The history of

telecommunication is an important part of the larger history of communication.

What is telecommunication?

Is the transmission of information, over significant distances, to communicate.

What does the term telecommunication mean?

The word telecommunications comes from "tele," which means "distant," and "communication," which means "to make common."

What are some basic elements in the telecommunications?

A basic telecommunication system consists of three primary units that are always present in some form:

A transmitter that takes information and converts it to

a signal. A transmission

medium, also called the "physical channel" that carries the signal.

An example of this is the "free space channel".

A receiver that takes the signal from the channel and converts it back into usable information.

What is internet?

Is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. It is a network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government networks, of local to global scope, that are linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless and optical networking technologies.

What services does it provide?

It provide An Internet service provider (ISP)

What is 2.0?

Is associated with web applications that facilitate participatory information sharing, Interoperability, user-centered design, and collaboration on the World Wide Web.

What is bandwidth?

Is the difference between the upper and lower frequencies in a contiguous set of frequencies.

What is a satellite?

Is an object which has been placed into orbit by human Endeavour.

What services or uses does a satellite provide?

Satellite Internet access Satellite phone Satellite radio Satellite television Satellite navigation

What is an orbit?

Is the gravitationally curved path of an object around a point in space, for example the orbit of a planet around the center of a star system, such as the solar system.

What is a communication satellite?

Is an artificial satellite stationed in space for the purpose of telecommunications. Modern communications satellites use a variety of orbits including geostationary orbits, Molniya orbits, other elliptical orbits and low (polar and non-polar) Earth orbits.

Telecommunications and meteorology

What is meteorology?

Is the interdisciplinary scientific study of the atmosphere.

What is the importance of meteorology?

Is important because we are learning about our atmosphere, the weather, and the things that shape our world. It helps us learn more about how to predict natural disasters and prevent more destruction

What are some applications in meteorology?

Weather forecasting Aviation meteorology Agricultural

meteorology Hydrometeorology Nuclear meteorology Maritime meteorology
