Global village

Describe the world reduced into a village by different media types, making the world become like a single village where people can contact each other quickly.

Duwait global village contains typical things of most of the countries such as gastronomy, typical dances and other cultural things.

TV of the future

OLEDs are made by placing films of organic materials between two conductors. When electrical current is applied, a light is emitted. OLED TV offers advantages over LCDs

as:

* Faster refresh rate, better contrast and better color

* Thickness: a LG model is just 1.7mm thick. Prototypes of OLED televisions are 0.3mm thick

* Better viewing angle - 180 degrees

* Greener: OLEDs do not contain bad metals

* OLED panels can be made flexible and/or transparent...

OLED displays are rollable. OLEDs will be so thin and transparent that they will just be invisible when not in use.

DNA computers

Researchers unveiled a programmable molecular computing machine composed of enzymes and DNA molecules instead

of silicon microchips. The DNA molecule that provides the computer with the input data also provides all the necessary

fuel.

The Guinness World Records recognized the computer as "the smallest biological computing device" ever constructed.

DNA computing are only beginning to be explored. But it could transform the future of computers, especially in

pharmaceutical and biomedical applications.

Phones of the future

Nokia has presented The Morph phone.

The Morph suggests that phones will involve transparency and transformability.

Morph will use radio frequencies, silicon microphones, and speed and motion detectors. It will also pack thermal

detectors with super-high-tech features to sense the environment, the health and temperament of people

nearby.

So, we can be sure that all new models of mobiles phones will be transparents and flexible.

Cars of the future I● Hiriko

Scientifics of the Massachusetts Technological Institute made a prototype of future cars.

They’ll make it rechargeable, folding and electrics.

They’ll build the prototype folding to reduce parking problems.

Firsts models will be able only for 2 passengers and for rich people only.

Cars of the future II● Terrafugia Transition (Renault Group)

It has folding wings which give the lift of the “car” in the air.

By the time, this non-flying car is use to take off and land at an airport and then, once folded the wings on the road like a car.

It costs about €194.000

Facial Recognition Systems● Computer application for verifying a person

from a digital image comparing selected facial features from the image and a facial database.

● It is used in security systems combined with fingerprint or eye iris recognition systems.

● There are 2 big groups of facial recognition which can be combined:

● * 3-dimensional recognition● * Skin texture analysis

Page 16: Technology of the future

* 3-dimensional recognition

This technique uses 3D sensors to capture information about the shape of a face. It is not affected by changes in lighting like other techniques. The sensors work by projecting structured light onto the face

* Skin texture analysis

It uses the visual details of the skin such as spots.

Tests have shown that with the addition of skin texture analysis, performance in recognizing faces can increase 20 to 25 percent.

Home automation● Systems capable of automating a home,

providing energy services, safety, welfare and communication.

● Regulation of lighting according to ambient light level

● Automation of all the different systems equipment easy to operate with a touch panel.

● Control via Internet● Your house can wake up you if you programmed

it (raising the blinds,…)
