“sans diversity, we limit the set of life experiences that are applied, and as a result, we pay an opportunity cost — a cost in products not built, in designs not considered, in constraints not understood, in processes not invented” …Bill Wulf

Mentoring - Search for the Next Tech Girl SuperheroIn 2016, we have nearly 500+ girls participating in our national program. Mentors in the Search for the Next Tech Girl Superhero are matched with teams for 12 weeks to guide female students in years 4-12 through the 12-week curriculum based on the Technovation global pitch program.

Technovation: world’s largest girls tech competition Teams of young women identify a problem, create an app to solve it, code the app, build a company to launch the app in the market, and pitch their plan to experts all in 3 months. The program teaches girls life skills such as how to identify problems, design and test solutions, collaborate in a team and communicate to different audiences.

Building technology for social good Female students join in teams of 3-5 girls. They nominate a teacher or parent as their coach to support and act as a role model for the team. All teams are matched with a mentor who connect virtually one hour per week via Skype or G+ hangout. The program is designed to reach regional students, removing the distance barrier.

What else can I do to support the movement? You can purchase books to distribute to your staff/supporters, or you can buy and donate to your local school W: www.techgirlsmovement.org / [email protected] E: [email protected] T: @TGAsuperheroes / F & I: techgirlsaresuperheroes
