The TCS Impact Rugged Baseband is a standalone or stackable ruggedized communications kit enabling rapid configuration and wide deployment options across fixed and mobile platforms. The Impact Rugged series is designed to MIL-810G standards for operation in the harshest of thermal, shock and vibration extremes. The modular approach allows for basic network operations using stand-alone modules and the scalability to easily grow and support larger operations by simply adding additional modules as needed.

The system drives significant Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) reductions while providing equal or greater capabilities when compared to existing network solutions. Rugged Baseband leverages the latest small form factor rugged router from Cisco 5915 ESR and the IOS Based Cisco ESS 2020 Switch, and includes options for MANET radio and power modules.

Impact® Rugged Baseband Applications

Army Standard Partner Expansion Node (ASPEN) Lite6 Port Switch, Router and Power Module Expandable Stack

The ASPEN Lite is a small, ruggedized communications kit powered by the Cisco 5915 Embedded Services Router (ESR) and the Cisco ESS 2020 switch. Additional options allow the ASPEN Lite to provide the functionality of dedicated stand-alone servers and network appliances. The server is capable of hosting Virtual Machine (VM) appliances or running native dedicated Operating Systems. The integrated server capability allows for the reduction in additional investment training maintenance and physical footprint of those devices.

Secure Wireless Distribution System (SWDS)11 Port Switch and MANET Module Expandable Stack

The SWDS is a wireless LAN extension that permits rapid setup and network access without excessive cabling. The SWDS may be placed in areas requiring network connectivity to form a wireless mesh. The SWDS can receive encrypted data through the MANET module, and send to the switch module for distribution within the area. Once the mesh is formed, data will flow between areas and to the main data center for secure wireless multipoint distribution.
