AF: Now let’s explore a real-world use-case that CIS helped solve for an actual customer. Names have been changed and we are using stock images to protect the innocent. Meet John. An IT admin who recently inherited an existing environment of NetScalers and other Citrix products. After several weeks, he received some complaints from users about performance of their web applications. John checked the load balancing configuration, ran some traces and collected logs. The issue persisted. John later came across the Citrix Insight Services platform. He captured a diagnostic data bundle from his appliance and sent it in for analysis. When the results were displayed, this is what he saw…(next slide)

AF: John saw 10 diagnostic plugins fire against his NetScaler bundle. Of them, this critical security-related one stood out. (read the details) John proceeded to click the link and see the details (next slide)

AF: Here John could see the recommendation containing the required action to remedy the issue. Every diagnostic plugin is very prescriptive and refers to one or more KB articles, eDocs documentation pages, or other public page on how to fix the condition detected. (next slide)

AF: Upon referring to the KB article from the plugin and performing the necessary commands on the NetScaler appliance, John was able to fix his issue. How do we know the issue was fixed? (ask the audience) (next slide)

Our platform will not only show and alert you if you’re not on the latest recommended hotfixes, it will also highlight any discrepancies amongst servers. This is great for environments with multiple MCS and PVS images that need to be managed.

ME: Additional features and components include Provisioning Services and Receiver as well as other platform features such as the ACE and F5 migration tool we talked about earlier. A little over a year ago, we supported only the 4 core products of NetScaler, XenServer, XenDesktop and XenApp.
