Network managers look to Green IT products to meet both economic and environmental challenges. In response, the volume of products touted by vendors as ‘green’ has exploded. How can IT fight the ‘greenwashing’ phenomenon and ensure the equipment they purchase and install is truly energy efficient? Vendor-neutral green performance metrics are the only answer to combating these false green claims. But what metrics should IT managers rely on? This session will discuss the techniques that product managers can use to properly judge whether the products they invest in will benefit their datacenters, bottom line and the environment at large.
