6 EASY STEPS You'll find 6 main steps listed in the left column of the Contest Builder. Work

your way through the steps and you’ll have a well-branded and full-featured

site up before you know it!

General > Set Up What type of promotion would you like to run, and where will it live?

Standalone Microsite Launch a free-standing branded site. This option is perfect if you’re

looking to design a unique user experience, set a custom URL(Pro

package feature) and allow users to access your promotion on a

mobile device. 760 pixels wide. Review app flow and features.

Facebook Page App Launch an app directly on your Facebook Page.

this the most popular Facebook option as it is

most tightly integrated with your page. Page tabs

are 810 pixels wide. Review app flow and features.

Note: Facebook Tab Apps are currently not accessible via

mobile device.

Facebook Canvas App Launch a full canvas app on Facebook. This option

is best if you wish to allow users to access your

promotion on a mobile device, however, it is one

click removed from your page. Canvas pages are

760 pixels wide.

Website Embed (iFrame)With this option you can embed your promotion

directly within a page of your website as an HTML

IFrame. All of the same features available with the

microsite are included.

Basic Option This basic design option allows you to upload assets and

select colors to match your branding.

!Tip If you have limited design skills, we recommend using Creative Kit in Google+ for photo editing and Adobe’s Kuler for color palate inspiration.

Advanced Option Access full CSS Style Kit Designer

Package.

This advanced Pro option allows those

with advanced design skills or web

design resources to get creative with

the site's design using CSS.

!If you want a custom design site but

don't have a web designer on your

team, we can help. Contact us for more

info on custom services.

!CSS Style Kit The Style Kit allows anyone with CSS

skills to customize the look & feel of a

Strutta promotion to a high degree.

When you click Download the Style Kit

below, a zip file will be generated that

contains all of the resources you or your

designer will need to implement a

custom design.

Entry Process > Timeline What is your Promotion Timeline, and how will winners be selected?

Timezone Select your timezone.

!!!Winner Selection You can determine a winner by

popular vote, internal judging or use a

combination method.

About Popular Voting: A voting round adds exciting elements of competition & urgency. It also encourages sharing among

participants and their social networks which is the biggest contributor to a “viral’ contest campaign.

!About Internal Judging: Including a judging round can boost your contest’s clout (especially if you bring influential personalities

as judges), and introducing a judging criteria helps to ensure the quality of your contest winner vs. a popularity vote alone.

!Tip We always recommend using a combination of voting and judging in order to determine winners.

Round Dates Each round has a start and end date. Please

specify your promotion's dates below. 

!After you’ve launched your promotion, you can

return to this page and adjust round start and

end dates for testing purposes. Please contact

us to re-open rounds that have ended or to

change your live promotion's end date. 

!!!Round Settings Set limitations on submissions and voting, and

the number of finalists and/or winners that will

be selected at each round.

!Please refer to our Guides for help closing your contest and handling round transitions.

Entry Process > Regions What are the requirements for entry?

Regional Restrictions Allow submissions from specific countries or from any location worldwide. We track entrant location by IP address.

Entry Process > Moderation How will you manage and control submitted entries and comments?

Tips

• We recommend at least allowing your community to flag inappropriate content on the site.

• In order to ensure brand integrity, choose full moderation to pre-screen all content and comments.

• Only publish content that meet your brand’s standards.

Community moderation Entries will be published immediately upon submission. Participants can flag inappropriate or

invalid content for admin to review. When an entry is flagged, you have the option to allow or

delete the entry. An email will be sent to the entrant if their entry is deleted.

!Full moderation Entries will be held in moderation for review upon submission. Only organizer approved content

will be published. An email will be sent to the entrant when their entry is allowed or deleted.

!No moderation Entries will be published immediately upon submission.

Entry Process > Entry Form What information would you like to collect from your entrants?

Entry Form By default, your entry form will have a file

upload section; entry title, description and

tags fields; and newsletter opt-in and

rules agreement checkboxes.

!Add your own questions and drag and

drop the order. Choose to include

common questions or create your own

checkbox, multiple choice, dropdown or

text-based questions.

!When your promotion is live you’ll be able

to download all data in a CSV format from

your Strutta Dashboard.

Content > Legal Although this is arguably the least exciting step in the Promotion Builder, it holds important information. Please complete all of the required fields below.

Entry requirements Simple HTML formatting is allowed!

!Select a minimum age for entry if necessary. If your

promotion is open to minors, we recommend including

a clause to require parental consent. Consult with your

legal resources.

Content > Prizes Are you offering incentives or prizes to participants of your promotion?

Simple HTML formatting is allowed!

You can highlight one prize,

multiple prizes, or none at all.

Adding a prize will populate a new

page on your site, "Prizes".

Content > Sponsors Do you have any sponsors or supporting partners you would like to showcase on your site?

Simple HTML formatting is allowed!You can showcase one

sponsor,multiple sponsors or

none at all. Add a sponsor will

Content > Judges Will you be enlisting any judges to help determine your promotion winners?

Simple HTML formatting is allowed!

As you may choose to conduct

judging offline, you can

showcase your promotion's

judges(s) even if you do not

configure a judging round for

this promotion. Adding a judge

will populate a new page on

your site, “Judges”.

Thank You Landing Page Once a user enters your contest they are

prompted to share and then directed to a

‘Thank You’ Landing Page.

!Change the default message that appears

on the ‘Thank You’ page. Learn more.

Translation Tool Select the language you want your promotion translated to from the list.

!This tool will translate all user interface elements and system messages to the language of your choice.

If you would like to launch a bi-lingual contest you can do this on on our Enterprise package. Please contact us to upgrade.

Integration > Domain Choose the domain name for your Microsite.

STANDALONE MICROSITE ONLY

Domain Setup Launch your site as a sub-domain on strutta.com on the TurnKey Package. Direct it to a custom domain or sub-domain

that you own on our Designer or Enterprise package.

!If you are running a Microsite you can allow users to access the site through a promotional tab on your Facebook page

or through the direct URL.

Integration > IFrame Choose the URL your IFrame will reside on.

IFRAME SITES ONLY

Frame Integration Enter the URL where your

IFrame will be embedded.

Then when you’re ready, copy

the IFrame script to embed on

your preview or live site.

!If you are running an iframe site

you can allow users to access

the site through a promotional

tab on your Facebook page or

through the direct URL.

Integration > Facebook How should your promotion integrate with Facebook and other channels?

Integration > Facebook Page Select your Facebook Page to link with your

promotion.

!Integration > Facebook App Before interacting with a Facebook App

users must authorize permissions to enable

the App. Run your promotion on our default

PromosApp, this is recommended as it

requires no additional setup. Alternatively,

create a Custom Facebook App, this option

does require additional technical know-how!

Facebook Fan-Gating !Advertise your promotion on your Facebook

Page through a customized tab. Make your

promotion a fan-only zone. Upload images for

your fan-gate or enter fully custom HTML!

When you launch you’ll need to install the Tab

onto your Facebook Page. Here’s how.

!!!!Facebook Like Box We recommend adding a Facebook Like box

to your site so participants can easily navigate

to your Facebook.

You can verify that all of your entrants Like

Review Double check your promotion’s settings. Continue to pay and launch if you’re good to go!

!!!Extended Hosting We’ll keep your site live indefinitely. If you want to take your site offline go to

your Dashboard > Tools > Take Offline. You will no longer have access to your

Dashboard once you take the site offline so make sure you export all of the

data first!

!Tip You can still make edits to your promotion’s details and design even after you’ve launched it. You just cannot change the site type or rounds when it is live.
