Some steps to guide you….

Layout

• Before you do anything else:– Decide how you will separate parts of your

presentation. – In my example, I used the following

categories:• Description, Habitat, Location, Management

Problems, Why Its Threatened.• I have about one slide per category.

Start with Text

• Use the KISS philosophy: Keep It Simple, Stupid.

• Your text should be nothing more than talking points, not paragraphs.

• It should help you remember what you want to tell you audience during your presentation

Backgrounds

• Sometimes, less is more. You don’t need crazy colors and wild designs to get your audience’s attention.

• Too much color and “fluff” can actually distract from your presentation.

Graphics

• Pick a few to enhance some slides, but don’t go overboard

• You don’t need a picture on every slide

• Again, too many pics can be a distraction to your intended audience
