What about Myspace.com??

• Myspace is where you go to watch music

videos, connect with artists, and promote your

art online.

• It is a social networking service owned by

Specific Media LLC and pop star Justin

Timberlake.

• Myspace launched in August 2003 and is

headquartered in Beverly Hills, California.

• In June 2012, Myspace had 25 million unique

U.S. visitors

How to get started?1. Go to www.myspace.com

2. Look for the member log-in box on the MySpace home page. Inside the box, you

should see an orange "Sign Up!" button. Click on this button to start the process.

3. Fill in the required fields on the sign-up page. You'll need an email address to get

started.

4. Set your password to something easy for you to remember. Confirm in the box

immediately

5. Read the terms and privacy statements and indicate that you accept those terms.

6. Fill in the verification numbers

7. Upload a picture of yourself so people can put a face to your name.

8. Enter information into your profile. Click on "Edit Profile" and tell people about

your favorite books, movies and heroes. Keep any personal information, like phone

numbers and addresses, secret.

9. Start using MySpace and invite your friends to join.

What are the features available?

1. Bulletins are posts that are posted on to a "bulletin board"

for everyone on a Myspace user's friends list to see.

2. In early 2006, Myspace introduced Myspace IM, an instant

messenger that uses one's Myspace account as a screen

name. Users who use Myspace IM get instant notification of

new Myspace messages, friend requests, and comments.

3. In early 2007, Myspace introduced MySpaceTV, a service

similar to the YouTube video sharing website. In

2009, MySpaceTV reverted back to Myspace Video.

5. In April 2007, Myspace launched a news service called

Myspace News which displays news from RSS feeds that

users submit.

6. In 2008, Myspace introduced an API with which users could

create applications for other users to post on their profiles.

7. Launched April 29, 2008, ksolo.myspace.com is a

combination of Myspace and kSolo, which allows users to

upload audio recordings of them singing onto their profile

page.

8. Myspace Polls is a feature on Myspace that was brought

back in 2008 to enable users to post polls (the process of

voting in an election) on their profile and share them with

other users.

9. In 2009, Myspace also added a new status update feature. If

a Myspace user has a Twitter account, the tweet will also

update the Myspace status.

Pros & consAdvantages of MySpace:

Easy access-it can be excess through mobile phones anywhere anytime as long as internet connection is available

Easy profile customization/User friendly

- Do not need users to have high knowledge in IT and the tutorials on using myspace is everywhere to be found

Includes blogging- myspace can be said as blogging too since it is use to shares about our life, news etc

International-we can interact with everyone from all over the world

Disadvantages of MySpace:

x Many fake identified users- might happen anytime, pretending to be someone else, faking about age etc

x Stalkers

- In conclusion, myspace.com is the place where

we can interact, share

stories, news, pictures, videos with everyone

including artists from whole over the world. It

provides us with variety of features to be used.

If we can use this social networking sites

wisely, it might not give any problem to us
