• 1992- The first smartphone was invented by IBM called IBM Simon. This is a part mobile phone , part PDA, Part Pager. It included apps like calender,calculator and address book.

• 1997 the term smartphone came into existence with the launch of Ericsson’s concept phone GS88 labelled as a Smartphone.

• 2007-The first iphone was launched by Apple inc.it was the first mobile phone to use a multi-touch interface.

• 2008-The first Android phone HTC dream was launched in the market

• By 2010 almost all mobile manufacturing companies launched smartphones in the market.
