You need to come up with your own

community changing event and figure out a

way to get people on board.

You must ask yourself questions such as why

would people want to be involved in your

community changing event? How are you

going to get your message across?

You will need to be creative here because

you will have a low budget. Remember you

are not starting as a large organization like

the United Way.

Who is the audience that you are trying to appeal to?

Where would they be from? What kind of background would they have? Would they be apart of any particular ethnicity?

Do not be afraid to stereotype here. You need to in order to effectively find your audience.

Be able to explain why you chose the audience that you did.

You can have more than one target audience if it applies to your project.

When I was given this assignment I created

an organization called the “Patriots of

America Foundation”.

This organization intended on helping our

communities by collecting donations and

volunteers for wounded American veterans.

As my organizations was very small, all

proceeds went to the “Wounded Warrior

Project”.

Like in your project you will need to provide

statistics.

Without statistics your words have no

evidence to support them.

In my example I gave statistics on the

number of wounded/disabled veterans.

Be specific in your statistics.

Be sure to list out every relevant detail that

you can find. Just be sure to justify to your

audience why you included those numbers.

It is critical that you include illustrations for

your audience.

Words are not enough. People need pictures

to look at.

Some individuals are better engaged with

illustrations rather than just words.

Make sure your visuals are both relevant and

creative.

Graphs are also a positive contribution to

getting your message across.

You need to let your audience know why they

are there.

How can they help better the community

through your organization.

Volunteering/Donations?

If there are donations be sure to let them

know through what portals they can donate.
