Pros and Cons of Aurasma:Pros

● Aurasma is very helpful to people creating interactive apps or slide shows.

● There is a app and an online version for those who don't have iPhones, iPods, iPads, and Smartphones.

Cons● People without an

iPhone, iPod, smartphone, or iPads cannot use this app.

How Aurasma May Help Teachers:

1. Teachers can show book trailers using Aurasma on books.

2. They can post it so when you scan the book or picture, the video will come up and as long as you have the app it will work.

3. Can be used as an educational thing for students.

How Aurasma may help students:

1. Students may learn educational things from teachers.2. Students can watch videos related to the "trigger image" which would be like a book cover.3. Student may learn a lot more things in a easier way!!!4. Students can enhance their project with aurasma.

Aurasma App: "How To" Tutorial

Step 1

Click on the little "A" on the bottom of the Aurasma App Screen. Then hit the "+" button. You should see this

screen.

After you click the "Select" button on the overlay page, this screen will appear. At the bottom there is a bar. When

you chose a picture that is likely to be recognized, the dot will go to the green side.

Step 2

WHen you click the " " button, you will get a screen showing that you can position your overlay on the trigger

image wherever you want.

Step 3

After you save the positioning of the overlay, you will have the option to add it to a channel. This is not needed, but if

you want other people to see it, this is what you need to do.

Step 4

Soon after you create the Aura, a message will appear saying :Your Aura "____" is now availiable on your

phone. This means that your Aura is ready and when you scan something, it will show your Aura.

The Following is the Steps on Making and Using the Online Version:

Online Aurasma Tutorial: How to Add a Trigger Image

Step 1

Go to the picture of a camera that says "Trigger Images" (in the top right corner) and click on it.

Click on the button that says "+ Add" an

This screen will come up. Fill in the "Name" box. You may fill in "Description" if you would like, but it is not needed.

Step 3

Click on the "Browse..." button.

Step 4

This box should pop up. Click on the image you want as your trigger image.

Step 6

After your image has uploaded, you will see your image on the screen. Now you can close out of this window.

Now You Will Be Introduced How to do an Overlay

Step 1

Click on the "Overlays" button.

Step 2

Click on the "+ Add" button.

Step 3

Fill in the same information as you did for the trigger image. Then click "Browse...".

Step 4

After you hit "Save", you will see your Overlay. Now you can exit out of the window.

Now You Will Be Introduced How to do an Aura

Now click on the "Aura" button.

Click on the "Add" button. You will have a window pop up that is slightly different than the others.
