Central Bancorp, the holding company for a broad complement of integrated financial services is

headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., with the disaster recovery center (DRC) in New Mexico

and multiple offices in Colorado, New Mexico and South Dakota. The Bank had been struggling with

its slow backup process, which did not meet its requirements of recovery point objective (RPO). To

accelerate its disaster recovery speed, Central Bancorp deployed two Sangfor WAN optimization

devices, one at the headquarters and one at its DRC.

Finding a cost-effective solution to accelerate the

backup process was the most challenging issue

for the Bank at that time. The 30Mbps bandwidth

connection between the DRC in New Mexico and

its headquarters in Colorado was totally utilized.

The big dataset caused the delaying of backup

data at the DRC, especially for Dell EqualLogic

data replication.
