Disasters Destroy in Seconds
WHO Needs You To Be Fast!
Over the last decade, more than half a million people have died in devastating floods, cyclones, earthquakes, and tsunamis in South-East Asia.
Health facilities are lifelines in the aftermath of such disasters, yet they often collapse or fail when most needed – when communities have been hardest hit.
Governments in South-East Asia have committed to ensuring health facilities, old or new, are safe.
This means that the structure is strong enough to withstand a disaster, that there are contingency plans in place and that staff is trained to respond to emergencies.
This will save thousands of lives.
Help WHO push for safe hospitals in disasters.
Support the campaign by testing your reaction time on Facebook Page: Making Our Hospitals Safe in Disasters
