security, income diversification, nutrition etc) Operates in 4 regions- 8 research kebeles Employed 4 site coordinators Partner with 9 CG centers, 4 local Univ, 4 regional
Res Inst, 4 Woreda ext offices and farmers Established 4 woreda level and 8 kebele level
Innovation Platforms Currently has 30± 2 action and exploration

Brief update on Africa RISING project
Objectives of the meeting:
Briefly review research experiences on enset
Identify research gaps and opportunities
Draft system oriented research protocol together with Africa RISING local and CG core partners
Why enset is a research agenda for AR project? It is high value crop in one of its research
sites (Lemo-Hadiya) The PCA and other AR diagnostic studies
identified- pests and diseases, and labour intensive enset processing practices as priority constraints
Low productivity of enset has become a concern of AR partners in the south
The attractiveness and potential of the crop for system oriented and integrated research work
