“…children  recall  content  from  the  ads  to  which  they’ve  been  exposed  and  preference  for  a  product  has  been  shown  to  occur

with  as  li:le  as  a  single  commercial  exposure…”  —American  Pyschological  Associa?on  (APA)

Consumer  Children

I am studying: How  ethical  consumer  adver<sing  targeted  at  American  children,  ages  2-‐10,  affects  a  child’s  percep<on  of  brands  and  influences  parental  purchasing.

Question: Because  I  want  to  discover  behavioral  mo<va<ons    of  children  that  foster  belief  forma<on  in  brands.

Conceptual Significance: To  help  readers  understand  how  ethical  consumer  adver<sing  aimed  at  young  children  might  lead  to  con<nued  belief  in  ethical  products  and  future  ethical  consumer  choices  beyond  childhood.

Baby  Boomer  Gaming

I am studying What  mo<vates  par<cipa<on  in  gaming  experiences  for  people  within  the  Baby  Boomer  genera<on.

Question Because  I  want  to  develop  new  types  of  gaming    experiences  that  will  help  remove  communica<on  barriers    between  Baby  Boomers  and  Digital  Na<ves  and  will  appeal  to  this    ethnographic  group.

Conceptual Significance To  help  readers  understand  how    gaming  experiences  can  be  used  to  strengthen  trans-‐genera<onal    communica<on  within  family  structures  and  society.

“…the  process  of  making  a  documentary  is  one  of  discovery,  and  like  wri?ng  a  story,  you  follow

a  lead  and  that  leads  you  to  something  else  and  then  by  the

?me  you  finish,  the  story  is  nothing  like  you  expected.”

Mul;-‐Pla=orm  Documentary

I am studying How  mul<-‐pla>orm  (transmedia)  storytelling  can  affect  audience  experience  of  public  awareness  documentary  narra<ve  among  Digital  Na<ves.

Question Because  I  want  to  develop  public  awareness    experiences  that  appeal  to  this  ethnographic  group.

Conceptual Significance To  help  readers  understand  the    ways  mul<-‐pla>orm  (transmedia)  storytelling  might  be  seen  as    public  awareness  communica<on  innova<on.
