RENFOviA HiGH sTRENGTH AsPHAlT miX Renfovia is a high modulus asphalt for base and binder courses. it can be used to build
and reinforce pavements subject to all types of traffic. Developed by eurovia, it extends
pavement service life.
With its excellent mechanical performance, Renfovia is particularly suitable for
pavements subject to rutting and for port and airport infrastructure.
By reducing the thickness of structures it also makes a substantial contribution to the
conservation of natural resources.

A pavement structure must support automobile traffic under the best possible conditions while distributing loadings in such a way as to enable the pavement to withstand these mechanical forces without damage. High performance base courses are therefore needed in the construction of infrastructure subject to heavy intensive traffic.
Renfovia is a high modulus asphalt for base and binder courses. The binder used and the formulation of this mix lend it excellent stiffness and high elongation capacity under repeated loadings.
The grading is usually 0/14mm and in some cases 0/10 or 0/20mm. Depending on the grading, thicknesses laid are 60 to 150mm per layer. The mix must then be overlaid with a surfacing designed to achieve the desired surface characteristics: Microvia®, Rugovia®, Viaphone®, Drainovia, etc.
Renfovia is produced and applied with conventional roadworks equipment.

Renfovia substantially reduces thickness requirements and thus generates considerable savings of aggregates, binder, transport and related works. The duration of works is shortened. Renfovia is suitable for pavements exposed to permanent deformation and rutting in both urban and rural areas.
> new construction: as an upper or lower base course over untreated or stabilised sub-base, Renfovia generates substantial savings of aggregates and bitumen and thus makes a substantial contribution to conservation of natural resources.
> Reinforcement: Renfovia offers high reinforcement capability, which can lengthen the service life of pavements subjected to fatigue by means of a thin layer of materials.
> Reconstruction: with Renfovia, the depth of excavation can be limited, an especially beneficial advantage in urban areas.

Renfovia meets the requirements of the EN 13108-1 "Bituminous mixes" standard. It is listed in Class 2, the highest-performance high modulus asphalt category. It uses a pure 10/20 or 15/25 bitumen.
Renfovia offers properties that differ from those of conventional hydrocarbon mixes for base and binder courses:
> a complex modulus close to that of an cement-bound aggregates,
> ultimate elongation under repeated loadings greater than that of an asphaltic concrete and three times that of an aggregate treated with hydraulic binder,
> excellent resistance to permanent deformation.
The aggregates used in the Renfovia formulation are chosen in accordance with the EN13043 "Aggregates for bituminous mixes" standard and fulfil the requirements of the EN13108-1 standard.Renfovia uses a binder and a special formulation that make it possible, subject to certain conditions, to employ local materials. As a proven option, RAP can be used in the Renfovia formula.
