INTRODUCTIONnatural resource which can replenish with the passage of time, either through biological reproduction or other naturally recurring processes. The term renewable resource also describes systems like sustainable agriculture and water resources.

Sustainable development (SD) refers to a mode of human development

TYPES

sun

Solar energy is the most abundant and easily available renewable resource

solar power including solar cookers, solar stills, solar water heating

WIND

Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy.

originally developed for milling grain for food production

Page 4: RENEWABLE and NON-RENEWABLE:- Enviroment management

HYDROPOWER

energy derived from the movement of water in rivers and oceans

hydroelectric power involves creating a dam, and using the resulting water force to turn a water turbine and generator

GEOTHERMALGeothermal energy comes from the Earth's crust

MERITS

Pollutant free

Easily available

Found across the globe

Never extinct

Page 7: RENEWABLE and NON-RENEWABLE:- Enviroment management

“D”MERITS

Very costly

Harmful for wildlife

Can’t be use all the time

Requires vast land

INTRODUCTIONNatural resource which cannot be reproduced, grown, generated, or used on a scale which can sustain its consumption rate.consumed much faster than nature can create them.

Eventually fossil-based resources will become too costly to harvest and humanity will need to shift its reliance to other sources of energy. These resources are yet to be named.

COALFormed from fossilized plants and consisting of carbon with various organic and some inorganic compounds

Oil

A carbon-based liquid formed from fossilized animals.

Pipes are sunk down to the reservoirs to pump the oil out.

TYPES

NUCLEAR

Radioactive minerals such as uranium are mined.

Electricity is generated from the energy.

WOODObtained from felling trees, burned to generate heat and light.

MERITS

Used worldwide

Main sources of energy

Relatively cheap to extract

readily available

Page 12: RENEWABLE and NON-RENEWABLE:- Enviroment management

“D”MERITS

gives off atmospheric pollutants

Only a limited supply.

Uneven distributed globally

costly to harvest

CONCLUSION

We should use the non-renewable resources very wisely and effectively. We should save them for future generation by giving ore focus on SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. Human beings have already started using alternate for limited resources. But these should be used all over the world.
