FAST/TOOLS R10.01 Release

The Mobile Background

Mobility is the next step towards the deployment of standard IT solutions in the world of management and process control. By bringing down the walls of traditional information gathering and delivery, this mobility is game changing. The use of mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones is an integral part of Yokogawa's information technology infrastructure. It enables organizations to measure and share context-based information anytime, anywhere, providing real-time insight for the timely localization of incidents and the making of faster and better informed decisions on the go.

Delivering on the promise of giving customers access to their information on any device, Yokogawa confirms the availability of new touch-optimized experiences on Android and other device platforms with new input components, alarm widgets and alarm acknowledgement capabilities, trending, reporting, and faceplates.

FAST/TOOLS Mobile HMI

The FAS/TOOLS mobile HMI client provides secure and greater visibility on supervisory and control of production operations. Graphics, alarms and trends can be viewed from any location with a HTML5 compliant browser. This saves travel cost by enabling the suitable person from any location to securely and instantly visualize, analyze and manage issues within his/her responsibilities and domain expertise. FAST/TOOLS mobile HMI is a maintenance-free, secure web-enabled solution.

With the major release of R10.01 the following enhancements have been added:

- Mobile Alarm App for Smart Phones - Time based trending of process variables - Extension of supported mimic components - Improved security of communications layer (web sockets)

Alarm App for Mobile devices

The mobile alarm app receives F/T alarms and provides users the functionality to view and acknowledge alarms from mobile devices depending on their privileges.

Furthermore the app supports: - alarm filtering based on several key criteria, - online/offline operating mode - user authentication - current/historical alarms), - different GUI layouts (smartphone/tablet)

Time based trending of process variables

Mobile operators can now enjoy a mobile version of the FAST/TOOLS trending component on their HTML5 application mimics by publishing its key functions.

The properties that can be used include; legend and style, title and footer, grid and color for line axis, plot and chart area/border and time range.

Extension of supported mimic components

A more extensive set of components is now available for HTML5 publishing of enhanced mobile HMI mimics. This means they can include in addition to standard drawing elements and value fields the following items as well: Push buttons, Toggle button, Check box, Radio button, Slider, Spinner, Combo box, List, Text field, Password field, Text Area and Date/time.
