DESCRIPTION
Treated recycled materials are increasingly being used in the construction and maintenance of road pavement structures. The Recyvia® product range developed by Eurovia in the 1990s offers contracting authorities a simple, efficient, effective and economical pavement refurbishing technique. The incorporation of reclaimed asphalt pavement, or more broadly of materials already used in construction, offers demonstrable environmental benefits while reducing the use of non-renewable raw materials and the storage of inert materials.

Treated recycled materials are increasingly being used in the construction and maintenance of road pavement
structures.
The Recyvia® product range developed by Eurovia in the 1990s offers contracting authorities a simple, efficient,
effective and economical pavement refurbishing technique.
The incorporation of reclaimed asphalt pavement, or more broadly of materials already used in construction,
offers demonstrable environmental benefits while reducing the use of non-renewable raw materials and the
storage of inert materials.
The Recyvia® range includes products and processes used for cold recycling, either in situ or in a mixing plant, in
thicknesses of up to 320 mm per layer.

The Recyvia® range brings together processes in which aggregates, planed or crushed reclaimed asphalt pavement and crushed concrete are treated in situ or in a mixing plant with hydraulic binder, emulsion or foamed bitumen.
Incorporation of the binder lends the recycled material sufficient mechanical strength to provide structural support and substantial pavement durability.
> Emulsion or foamed bitumen may be used in pavements with high structural capacity. In this case, the hydraulic binder is used only for the purpose of ensuring immediate strength during the curing of Recyvia® PM or PE.
> The use of a hydraulic binder provides substantial structural reinforcement and improves the mechanical properties of the mix.
The composite material obtained by adding cement has outstanding cohesion after only 3 days of curing. Its behaviour under heavy traffic, especially its rutting resistance, is excellent.

ProTECTIng THE EnvIronnEMEnT
The Recyvia® range helps protect the environment, not only by using recycled materials but also through its cold production process.
When treated in a mixing plant, recycled materials are proportioned through a hopper and transported to the mixer, where they are mixed with a bitumen emulsion (or a composite binder).
The treated material obtained is very homogeneous and without segregation. It incorporates between 30 and 100% reclaimed asphalt pavement. The compact mobile mixing plant can be readily adapted to all types of worksite. Such flexibility enables the production plant to be set up close to the work zone, thus reducing transport costs.
The material is laid conventionally by grader or paver, depending on its composition. A tack coat must be laid between Recyvia® and the upper mix course. It is proportioned in accordance with the porosity of the material treated.
The thickness of the surface course is adapted to the pavement loadings.
MULTIPLESadvanTagES
Most recycled pavement materials can be used to produce Recyvia®, provided a prior laboratory study is carried out.
The company ensures the quality of the Recyvia® processes by carefully selecting the constituents and the application technique.
Recyvia® is a registered trademark.
Recyvia® was selected by the Direction des Routes highway department as part of the 2009 Road Innovation Charter and was selected by the Asfa Innovation Charter.
