• Steps in ray tracing1.Draw an arrow parallel to principal axis from
the tip of the object to the mirror, then reflect it passing at the focus.
2. Draw another arrow from the tip of the object to towards the mirror and passing through the focus of the mirror, then reflect the arrow parallel to the principal axis as it hits the
mirror

3. The intersection between the two arrows is the location of the image. 4. The length of an arrow from the principal axis to its tip its size.
case 1. the object is away from the center of the mirror
Analysis
When the object is away from the center the image is reduced and inverted.
Case 2. the object is between the focus and the center of the mirror.
Analysis
•When the object is between the focus and the center its image is inverted and enlarged
Case 3. the object is between the mirror and the focus
Analysis
When the object is between the mirror and the focus , its image is upright and behind the mirror
Case 4 The object is at infinity
Analysis
When the object is at infinity its image is found at the focus of the mirror.
Case 5. The object is at the center
Analysis
When the object is at the center of the mirror, its image is found at the center and is inverted.
Case 6. the object is at the focus
Analysis
When the object is at the focus of the mirror its image is found at infinity.
