Create a Set
Creating a Quizlet Set
Note: If you are not logged in when you choose “Make Flashcards” or “Create a Set,” Quizlet will prompt you to make
an account so you can save your material.
1.After logging in, select “Create Set” in the home bar, or click the “Make Flashcards” button to get started with set creation.

2. Give your set a title.
2. Add a description of the set material.
*Adding subject information is optional,
but can be helpful to categorize your set for
search.
Choose Visibility Settings4. Decide who will be able to view your flashcard set by using the
“Visible to” drop menu.
Choosing “certain classes…” will prompt you to select a class if you are part of one. This option will prevent anyone who’s not part of your class
from viewing your set.
Choosing “people with a password…” will prompt you to set a password for
this set. This option will prevent anyone without this password from
viewing your set.
Editor Settings4. Decide who will be able to make changes to your flashcard set
by using the “Editors” drop menu.
Choosing “certain classes…” will prompt you to select a class if you have joined one
or created one. This setting prevents anyone who’s not part of the class from
making changes to this set.
Choosing “people with a password…” will prompt you to set a password for this set. This setting prevents anyone
without a password from making changes to this set.
Choosing Languages5. Choose a language for the first side of your flashcard set from the
drop menu. The first side is usually the “terms” side of your cards.
5. Choose a language for the second side of your flashcard set from the drop menu. The second side is usually the “definition” side of your cards.
Entering Set Information
Notice that after selecting your languages, the appropriate set of symbols and accents will appear on the side for your convenience.
7. Enter your concepts or terms in the left column.
8. Enter your definitions or translations in the
right column.
*Quizlet also has an “auto-define” feature to help you save time. If you click this, you can select a definition
from the pop-up.
