Camera

The above pictures show the camera (Canon) in which I used in the making of my two minute opening to my film.

Furthermore myself and my group did not come across any difficulties whatsoever when using this camera. As soon as we transferred all the footage into the computer we saw that it had produced clear and precise material, just as we had

hoped.

Boom Microphone

This picture portrays a Boom Microphone just like the one we used

in our production. Moreover when putting all the footage into the

computer we realised that all the dialogue and specific sounds we

recorded and wanted to be present were. Additionally we learned that the clarity was incredible and thorough.

This was an advantage due to the fact that other groups within our class had the problem of not being able to

hear their dialogue etc. Consequently they had to reshoot it using a Voice/Audio Recorder.

Voice/Audio Recorder

The above pictures show the Voice/Audio Recorder we used in the making of our film. In addition to this we

recorded the American Radio News Broadcast with this and when putting all of the material into the computer, the outcome was great as it was clear and distinctive.

So we realised this was the preferred piece of equipment to use rather than a digital camera.

Pop ShieldThe picture to the left shows a

Pop Shield that was used when recording our

Voice/Audio material, which was the American Radio

News Broadcast. Furthermore this prevented any

inconvenient noises when recording, for example when pronouncing specific words some people let out extra

saliva which this controlled. Also it enabled the person to

not speak to close to the recorder when recording so that their voice didn’t seem ‘rustly ’. Likewise when the

footage was put into the computer it came out very

pure.

Editing

The above Print Screen shows the program in which we used to edit the entire footage we shot for out two minute

opening of our film, which is called Adobe Premiere Elements. Furthermore this software enabled us to edit parts of our material out, add effects to the footage such as fade out, change the sound by making it louder etc. Aswell as adding titles into our film and other sound(s) effects, for

example like those made in Garageband. Additionally you were also able to add external images/pictures, for example

we did this for the titles. I have learned this is one of the most vital and important parts as the entire project came

down to editing on this software.

Garageband

The above Print Screen shows the program Garageband. Within our film we used this to make external

music/sound such as the upbeat happy American music, this was done to primarily change the mood from tragic to tranquillity and normalisation. Consequently I have

learnt that it is an extremely trustworthy program due to the fact that it provides high quality sounds that when

exported into Adobe Premiere Elements still sound extremely professional.

Tripod for Camera

The pictures presented on this page demonstrate the tripod in

which we used when making the opening two minutes of our film.

Consequently by using this equipment it allowed us to achieve

steady and controlling shots. Additionally when putting our

footage into the computer it showed

us all the shots we used with this tripod, which was the majority of them. Furthermore all the shots

weren’t jerky in the slightest instead they were still and precise, just like we had hoped. Therefore looking

professional and expert. So therefore I have leant this is a vital piece of equipment to use when

shooting a film.

Tripod for Voice/Audio Recorder

The picture on the left demonstrates the tripod we

used when recording the American Radio News Broadcast. This was

primarily used so that when the two people recorded

their voices they didn’t have to bend over to reach the

Voice/Audio Recorder. This is because it wasn’t able to be held as if someone was holding it, they could initially move it accidentally make the recording louder, then

quieter in some parts, which isn’t consistent or

professional.
