First of all when deciding the “the look” I felt as if I wanted my magazine to have a raw/edgy look to, like no other magazine available at the moment, what also helped me decide this was my audience feedback questionnaire which gave me a feel of what my particular audience wanted. I tried to use colours, pictures and fonts which I thought would appeal to my audience, for example colours I used were balanced and complementary, fonts I used I made sure they were readable yet effective but still went with the style of the certain article, when taking pictures I also took a variety of different poses and back grounds and also pictures with direct address and without, for example on my front page my coverstar had direct address which would demand my readers attention and my coverstar was also a teenager therefore my audience could relate, however when creating my double page spread my coverstar was looking down from the camera, this is all about time and place and when I think this is appropriate or not.

I also used incentives on the cover of my magazine, which offered a free song download voucher off Itunes which recommended a new band each week, I put this inside a bright yellow puff which I know would immediately grab audiences attention, and I also put in the bottom skyline another incentive offering the chance to win free tickets to see a band, this is worth putting on the front of the magazine because even if people don’t want to read m magazine they may still like the band and want to be in with a chance to win tickets.

Stereotypical magazines include specific codes and conventions in order for It to appeal and attract their audiences, in my case I thought the overall look of my magazine was important and also its colour scheme.
