Pythagorean Theorem and
Distance Formula
By: Brianne Hegwood
? QUE ES PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM ?
The Pythagorean Therom consists of a fórmula de mathimaticas.
The Formula is a2+ b2= c2. “a“ and “b” are the legs of the triangle which is ”c “is the hypotenuse.
In the Pythagorean Theory you only use an right angle or a 900degree angle.
PYTHAGOREAN THEORY AT WORK!
a2+b2=c2
42+52=c2
16+25=c2
41=c2
41 =6.4B=5
A=4C=X
Distance Formula
(X2-X1)2+(Y2 -Y1 )2
Just like when you do slope you do almost the same thing here just matching the coordinates up differently.
Distance Formula…and how it’s done!
Here are two points from a graph set up so that all I have to do is match it: (3x,1 ,4y,1) and (2x,2 ,5y,2 ). Now lets do the work…
(2-3)2 + (5-4)2
-12 + 12
-1+10
0 = 0
