Offshore cables’ chemical resistantproperties (low gas permeability,hydrocarbon, mud and moistureresistance) are critical to a longerfault free lifetime.

Prysmian’s TechnergyTM Offshorecables have: high working temperatures,very high short circuit temperatures,outstanding mechanical resistanceand low deformation under loadconditions, all substantially exceedingthe standard requirements.

AFUMUDTM sheathing compoundhas been especially developed towithstand harsh environments andextreme temperatures, from thePoles to the Equator. This specialsheathing means our cables are alsoextremely resistant to marine saltand UV rays and range of chemicalsused on offshore platforms.

Prysmian TechnergyTM Offshorecables promote increased humanand material safety, both in normalworking conditions and in theevent of fire: low toxicity, reducedsmoke emissions and fire propagationresistance are key features of theTechnergy range.

Additionally, for emergency and vitalcircuits, to cope with continuousoperation during a fire, an optionalfire resistant design (up to 1000 °C)is offered in accordance with IEC,BS and IEEE.
