• From Kurt Vonnegut’s story Cat’s Cradle

• Later built on by Physicist Philip Ball

• Meant to illustrate a tipping point or a phase transition where incremental changes have large scale effects

• The Grand Ah-Whoom is all about collective behaviour and the rise and fall of political or social movements

• 57 % participate in social networks at least once a month

• That is greater than any market regularly surveyed by Forrester
