Ultra-high Impact Channelizer Improves Safety, Reduces Costs

Tacoma, WA - Davidson Traffic Control Products introduced their new City Post high performance channelizer post at the ATSSA Traffic Expo in Tampa, FL.

The DP 200 EFX City Post is an ultra-high performance post that features a sleek profile and quick “spin-in” deployment. This all polyurethane channelizer post demonstrates quick, sharp rebound when impacted and is perfect for installations in high-speed, high-impact locations like gores, toll plazas and HOT lanes as well as low-speed urban locations where trip hazards are a consideration.

Pushing the Performance Envelope!City Posts were subjected to a severe endurance test at the Texas Transportation Institute (TTI). The TTI test vividly demonstrated the durabiltiy of the City Post, with all posts surviving 50 impacts at 55 MPH. The test deck was designed to subject the posts to both bumper and wheel-over impacts. Continuing the test past 50 impacts, all posts survived 90 impacts, and half of them made it to the century mark – 100 impacts!

Engineering Polymers Resist Low-speed Crushing Forces

Channelizer posts are sometimes subject to low-speed crushing forces from heavy vehicles like tow trucks. The 100% polyurethane City Post resists these forces and rebounds to within 5 degrees of vertical time and time again, little the worse for wear.
