INTRODUCTION

5 pen pc shortly called as P-ISM(“Pen-style Personal NetworkingGadget Package”) is an electronicperception technology in which acomputer is broken apart into pieceseach having a size of a pen anda function of its own. P-ISMs areconnected with a wireless technology. Whole set is connected with cellularphone function.

HISTORY

"Pen-style Personal Networking Gadget" created in 2003 by Japanese technology company NCE.

Its designer is Tour Ichihash.

P-ISM was first featured at the 2003 ITU Telecom world held in Geneva, Switzerland.

ELECTRONIC PERCEPTION TECHNOLOGY

EPT is a low-cost , single-chip

imagining technology that enables electronic

components to form a 3-D map of their

surroundings and see what their user willing to do.

Current EPT keyboards can sense up to 400

characters per minute.

It is also known as computing engine.

Dual Core processor is used.

Works with windows operating system.

The control unit of the cpu generates electrical

signals to direct other pens to execute the

instructions of a program in sequence.

COMMUNICATION PEN

Exchange information

using wireless Bluetooth

technology.

Connected to internet

through cellular phone

function.

Uses Wi-Fi technology.

VIRTUAL KEYBOARD

Uses laser beam to generate full size perfect keyboard.

It is a software component that allows a user to entercharacters.

Virtual keyboards may be used in some cases to reducethe risk of keystroke logging.

Features of virtual keyboard are: Sound , Connection,Intensity , Timeouts , Sensitivity , Auto repeat

PROJECTOR PEN

LED Projector projects the

monitor on a screen.

Size of the monitor is A4.

Resolution capacity is1024

*768 approx.

It gives more clarity and go

od picture.

CAMERA PEN

It is a digital camera in the

shape of a pen.

It is useful in video recording,

video conferencing, simply it

is called as web cam.

It is also connected with

other devices through

Bluetooth.

It is a 360 degrees visual

communication device.

BASE BLOCK

All five pens can rest in aholding block which rechargesthe batteries and holds themass storage.

The types of battery used hereis lithium ion battery.

It comes with a battery life of6+ (i.e. 6days).

For normal use it can be usedfor 2 weeks.

The use of lithium ion batteryin this gadget will reduceenergy density, durability andcost factor

The gadget is very costly the consumer

cannot afford to purchase them.

SECURITY

E-fingerprinting makes the gadget more secure, which allows only owner to activate the pc. So even if we loose it, no one else can access the gadget.

Virtual keyboards are used to reduce the risk of keystroke logging.

The use of on screen keyboard can increase the risk of password disclosure.

FUTURE SCOPE

The 5 Pen Pc Technology project started in the year 2003.However, the information about its release is not yet made public. Whether it will be available for the public use is still a question, because of its excessive price of 30,000$. The prototype developed by the company proves that the creation of such complex technology is feasible, but because of lack of information about its recent developments, it is unclear what the company’s intentions are about this technology.

CONCLUSION

This 'pen sort of instrument' produces both the

monitor as well as the keyboard on any flat

surfaces from where you can carry out

functions you would normally do on your

desktop computer.
