Soundtrack Ideas.

Often, social realism soundtracks consist of grime music, lots of dialogue, sounds you would hear on a

regular day-to-day basis (such as cars) and often sounds of violence such as gunshots and punches.

Typical Direction.

Cinematography –Shot types used are often close-ups and mid shots. This helps to create tension with the audience and makes them feel intimate with the characters, or

even intimidated by them.

Editing – Often used in social realism films are straight cuts, to connotate and keep up the ideology of realism. Also used are fades to show death or an ending and cross

cutting. These are all used to continue the idea of reality.

How will we link our trailers to our ancillary tasks?

I will link all of my tasks through the use of a continuous house style, continuous colour scheme, emphasis on the main characters on my poster and similar fonts used. This will ensure the audience is enabled to associate all the tasks with each other.

What is needed to achieve what I want to do?

To achieve what I want to do, I will need an urban setting such as a council estate (which will be quite easy to find and assess), a cast of main characters, a high quality video camera, a plot sequence with a

clear beginning/middle/end, the software which enables me to edit the footage and clear grasp of

media skills and research.
