Skills acquired How did these skills contribute to the creation of

your product?

How will you develop these skills during the A2 project?

Digital technology- What

equipment/software packages did you use to produce your production?

• Camera• Tripod & Track• Photoshop• Final Cut• Garage Band

The use of the tripod helped us gain different shots and camera angles such as a tilt and the track also helped the camera record the scenes smoothly rather than being shaky if it was hand-held. The use of final cut helped the putting together of our film easier to manage and the transactions helped improve the quality and made it look more professional. Photoshop was used to create the logo. It was the best software to use as we could start our logo from scratch instead of having to use templates or examples which also meant we could be creative and make our logo represent our film genre.

The use of the camera will help us record different scenes and include different camera angles and shots to help improve our quality and look more experienced. The tripod and track will help our clips be recorded smoothly. The use of photoshop will help when making our album cover as we can remove imperfections with the spot-healing tool and the different effects such as surface blur to make our faces look more soft. Post production- What software did you

use to create your production?

- Discuss specific features of the software.

• Photoshop• Final Cut• IMovie

Research and Planning- What tasks did you

complete when preparing to film your sequence?

- How did your planning help the smooth progression of your film?

• Timetoast Timeline• Risk Assessment• Analysis• Audience Reserch• Script• Call Sheet• Props• Storyboard

Using the Timeline we could keep track on the tasks we had to complete and helped us find out what we expected to complete within each lesson, giving us goot time-keeping and to prevent us falling back on work. The risk assessment helped us figure out what precautions we needed to take with the different pieces of equipment to prevent accidents. Creating the analysis of a clip in the same genre as ours helped give us ideas on what we could include in our sequence and give us a more detailed guide in

Using another timeline will help keep the group updated and aware of what has already been done and what needs to be done to ensure we have good time-keeping and don’t fall back. The use of another risk assessment will help us see what we need to be aware of and what things can be manageable, for example if we use the track in public again we need to make sure nobody will fall over it. An analysis will help us get a deeper look into the genre we are looking into so we can get an insight to the type of

the type of genre and props and scenes usually related to Film Noir. Doing the audience research meant we could find what the audiences liked, disliked and expected from the genre so we could add into our sequence that would make them approve of it. The script made it easier for us to remember our lines and make the recording run faster and smoother, it also helped our group look more professional having our own script typed up. The call sheet showed us what we expected to do outside of college hours during our recording time so we could be prepared and knew who was in charge of doing what. The storyboard was a great help as it made it easier for us to know what we were videoing and what types of scenes there would be and shown what needed to be recorded which also linked to props, script and risk assessment

things we need to include in our music video to help it become successful. Audience research will

Using conventions of real media texts

- Which texts did you analyse?

- Did you take any inspiration from the conventions found from your research?

• Sunset Blvd• Taxi Driver• Momento

Watching a variety of opening sequences helped us get an insight into the type of ideas included in opening sequences, such as the tilt angle at the beginning of Sunset Blvd which we then used for the first camera angle for the creation of our opening sequence.

In our music video we can analyse different types of text for our opening sequence, for example the introduction of characters in Katy Perry-Last Friday Night.

Creativity - were our ideas for your portfolio imaginative and unique or did you adhere to conventions?

- Final Cut. Tripod. Cuebase. Movie Maker. Photoshop

The use of Final cut meant we could edit the speed and motion of some of our scenes such as where Emily fell down. It also helped to show the date of our genre by changing the full movie sequence into black and white. Photoshop was used to ceate our logo. Movie maker helped us cut out certain scenes and make our soundtrack blend in well with each scene. Cubase was used to create our soundtrack. The tripod was used to keep the camera still and prevent any scenes from being jumpy and

I will consider the type of costumes that would go well with our song, its genre, narrative, scenery and the story behind it. On scenes where the song becomes built up I will use more camera angles to emphasise the change in speed and build up to the chorus. I will use Final Cut to put the video and song in sync so it doesnt look like we are lip syncing and to make edits such as putting certain scenes into slow motion or in black and white. The use of photoshop will help with the creation of our digipack. We will

hard to see. use the tripos to keep the scenes still. Cubase doesnt really need to be used for this project as we already have our soundtrack however it could be used if we wanted to edit it and put different instruments in at different points of the song.
