What is PackeTV® Mobile? PackeTV® Mobile is an easily deployed, server-based solution that makes simple work of delivering HLS content. It is an HTTP-based video streaming system by which IP video is delivered to the audience’s mobile device. What does PackeTV® Mobile do? PackeTV® Mobile provides seamless, around-the-clock availability of the video streams for mobile IP Video distribution to iOS, Android phones, pads and tablets. PackeTV® Mobile conveys programming to hundreds of clients from one server. It can also be configured from a hosted solution to reach unlimited clients via a corporate or public network. Streaming can be delivered on a private Wi-Fi LAN/WAN, or over a 3/4G network for global delivery. How does it work? HLS breaks a video stream, whether a live feed or stored files, into a series of downloadable, fixed-size chunks. The mobile device then downloads and plays the video files via HTTP request, which resolves any potential firewall issues. A content manifest list controls the delivery timing of each chunk and enables clients to continually access the uninterrupted, high quality video being delivered. Who is it for?
