IPv6 activities

• Goal for 2008: Full support for IPv6– Mostly done or well underway by now

• Resource services– Improve support for IPv6 requests and request

management– DNS (ip6.arpa) management

• Online services and connectivity– DNS servers, websites, MyAPNIC etc– Dual stacks– Better IPv6 connectivity

• Communications– Training, Information, ‘Promotion’…

IPv6 Program• This position is established in the Communications Area to

coordinate APNIC communications activities relating toIPv6:

– Field research to identify commonly asked technical and businessmanagement questions faced by ISPs who are deploying IPv6 andestablish best current practices.

– Develop reports and materials to disseminate to various audiences(regulatory and policy, ISP business managers, ISP technical managersand network engineers).

– Conduct research to determine best current practices related to usage ofvarious transition mechanisms.
