Power Supply
The plugs for the power supply of a computer are used to connect to a device such as a CD-ROM or Hard Drive.
Computer Microphone
A device which allows you to record voices or sounds and place them onto computers, generally as a wav file.
Microphones also can be used with other applications such as a voice dictation program or a voice conference program.
Computer Keyboard
The set of typewriter-like keys that enables you to enter data into a computer. Computer keyboards are similar to electric-typewriter keyboards but contain additional keys. The standard layout of letters, numbers, and punctuation is known as a QWERTY keyboard because the first six keys on the top row of letters spell QWERTY.
Computer Monitor
A monitor is the TV-like part of the computer that you look at to see information.
Monitors are sometimes called displays or screens. Information on a monitor is displayed in pixels.
Computer Mouse
A device that controls the movement of the cursor or pointer on a display screen. As you move the mouse, the pointer on the display screen moves in the same direction.
Computer SpeakersAn electro-acoustic transducer that converts electrical signals into sounds loud enough to be heard at a distance.
Computer Webcam
A video camera that is used to send periodic images or continuous frames to a Web site for display.
Webcam software typically captures the images as JPEG or MPEG files and uploads them to the Web server.
Flash Drive
A flash drive is a small, portable flash memory card that plugs into a computer’s USB port and functions as a portable hard drive.
USB flash drives are touted as being easy-to-use as they are small enough to be carried in a pocket and can plug into any computer with a USB drive.
When a flash drive is plugged into a computer’s USB port it stores information onto its hard drive.
