What is OpenStack?

• OpenStack is an open source infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud platform

• Jointly founded in July 2010 by Rackspace and NASA with merger of two

projects: Swift and Nova

• OpenStack is the single largest open source solution in history

• Surrounding this project is a massive ecosystem of vendors, many of whom

offer a distribution of OpenStack and added services to facilitate adoption
