Dual Chimneys old: Fireplaces and chimneys were used as a source of heat and for cooking.
NoGm: Chimneys serve as a location for exhaust, plumbing and radon vents.
metal roofingold: metal was widely available and fire resistant compared to previously used wood shingles.
NoGm: metal roofs provide similar benefits and have a high reflective index, reducing solar heat gain.
winDows old: a large number of small sized window panes were used since large sheets of glass were hard to find and expensive.
NoGm: window openings are made large to provide a source of light and efficient ventilation.
ClapboarD siDingold: Readily available clapboard wood siding was installed using overlapping split boards to direct rain and snow runoff.
NoGm: more sustainable materials are used while maintaining a historic aesthetic.
Dormersold: adding second floor dormers were necessary to provide increased ceiling height, lighting and ventilation.
NoGm: dormers are similarly added to maximize floor plan efficiency.
shutters old: shutters were used to protect windows from inclement weather and cool the house from intense sunlight.
NoGm: shutters retain a similar function, especially in high-storm and sunny regions.
a New world Home is one that evokes the spirit of the past while respectfully
integrating all of the modern conveniences and amenities afforded by the 21st century.
New world Home brings the best of the past into the present.
New Oldthe New old concept describes the convergence of historic design with contemporary
construction techniques to produce a home that fits in naturally with the surrounding
landscape and community.
CERtIFIEd to tHE HIGHEst GREEN buIldING staNdaRds
a NoGm home is able to achieve the highest levels of certification by utilizing a
proprietary “whole-systems approach” to home construction. well thought out design,
a strong project team, world class brand partners and various construction techniques
are all integral to building a NoGm home.
New world Home is closely affiliated with the leading national industry certification
programs working to measure home energy and environmental performance. several
green milestones have been achieved to date including usGbC lEEd® for Homes
Platinum, NaHb Gold and EarthCraft Gold.

Modularmodular homes are comprised of several different boxes, or modules, that are
individually manufactured and transported on-site where they are assembled into
a cohesive structure. Jigs and templates produce precise structures resulting in
tight joints, straight lines, strong connections and materials cut with a high degree
of accuracy. the components of a modular home are built in an environmentally-
controlled factory setting where quality control is monitored at every station in the
production line.

styLe: Farmhouse inspiration: redding, Connecticut
redding, originally named Lonetown Manor, was strategically located during the revolutionary War and is a peaceful rural community committed to preserving its historical and natural resources. This Greek revival style farmhouse incorporates several classical elements including pediments, profiles, fanlight, pentice as well as a center hall chimney, covered porch and summer kitchen layout.
styLe: Cape inspiration: smithfield, rhode Island
The Town of smithfield was named after John smith, one of the original six founders that formed the first settlement in rhode Island during the 1600’s as a farming community. The local architectural style evolved over time to suit the stormy weather of the New england coasts. The local cape style homes typically incorporated symmetrical design with a steep-pitched roof, porches, dormers, multi-paned windows, wide clapboard siding and wooden shutters that offered protection against the elements.
