Hybrid apps work across multiple platforms and operate on various operating systems (without being built Hybrid apps work across multiple platforms and operate on various operating systems (without being built specifically for them). Whereas a native app exists within a device’s infrastructure and can access various other apps and features. Here are 5 questions you should ask yourself before you opt for one:

Native apps are more expensive than hybrid apps. Make sure that your budget doesn’t crack under the pressure of building a native application. Developers prefer to build hybrid apps because of the cost restraint and their cross-platform compatibility.

Native App v/s Hybrid App? Choose Wisely!

Can you afford it?

Time is a major factor in deciding whether you will go ahead with native or hybrid app development. Hybrid apps can be brought into the market faster than the native ones. If your native app targets several platforms, the developing team will need to build apps for separate platforms. Thus, if time is a constraint, hybrid wins the poll.

Do you have time to build a native app?

When developed for a particular operating system, Native apps can take advantage of OS updates and adapt accordingly. Whereas hybrid apps will need regular tweaks to keep up with the OS updates. This makes native apps more secure than hybrid apps.

Will you update frequently?

Native apps enable you to customize your app at par with the operating system’s technical specifications i.e. you can select swipe routines, font choices, etc. Thus, it gives you a seamless user experience but consumes considerable amount of time. The developers need to be familiar with the OS’s ecosystem to build a native app integrating all OS’s finer details. If you take care of the smaller things, the bigger things take care of themselves. So while you go ahead with your decision, make sure you remember to take care if the finer app details while trying to create a winning user experience.

Can you afford to sacrifice UX?

Not every app stays in the market forever. At times, a business creates an app to test the market, with intentions to improve it once it determines market interest. Deploy a hybrid app for testing purposes and settle down with a native app!

Is This a Long-term App?

Both native and hybrid apps have their advantages. It’s important to understand the goal behind the app to make an informed decision. Developers should propose both options to the clients and let them decide if they are willing to pay more for a native app.

Who wins?
